Abstract

Currently, the mortality rate for pregnant women is quite high, this is due to the health problems they usually experience, be it health problems in the fetus or health problems in the pregnant woman herself. Therefore, the authors conducted research to be able to design and apply an expert system that can diagnose what type of disease a gravida (pregnant woman) is suffering from and can provide information on how to handle or treat it by paying attention to the rules and methods used, as well as providing information about the disease. which is common in pregnant women. Input from the application is in the form of disease data, symptom data, solution data, patient data, and knowledge data. The resulting output is the result of disease diagnosis in gravida (pregnant women). The author builds an expert system application to diagnose disease in gravida (pregnant women) using the Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 programming language with database storage using phpMyAdmin. With the application of this expert system, it can help the performance of medical experts, especially in the H. Abdul Manap Hospital, Jambi City and gravida (pregnant women) so that they can find out the early symptoms of the disease they are suffering, so that they get immediate treatment.
